EU economic statistics · Eurostat HICP annual inflation

Annual inflation in Belgium was 3.3% in June 2026, Eurostat reports

Eurostat reports all-items HICP annual inflation of 3.3% for Belgium in June 2026.

Eurostat reports annual inflation of 3.3% for Belgium in June 2026, measured by the all-items Harmonised Index of Consumer Prices (HICP).

That is 0.7 percentage points lower than the 4.0% Eurostat reports for May 2026. Both figures are rates expressed in percent, so the difference between them is measured in percentage points, not in percent.

The annual rate of change compares the index for the month with the index for the same month one year earlier. “All items” means the full HICP basket, not a selected part of it.

This brief reports the figure Eurostat published and its comparison with the preceding month. It does not explain why the figure moved, and it does not attribute the movement to any policy, event or decision.

Revision history

  • 12 September 2026, 02:10 UTC — We corrected our own error Our error

The wording above changed because this service corrected how it reads the source record. The window this service reads was one month too short, so the oldest month in it had no month before it to compare with. The brief reported that as Eurostat not having published the earlier figure. Eurostat had published it; this service had not asked for it. The source record itself is not known to have changed.

No comparison with the previous month is shown here. Eurostat has not published a figure for the preceding month.

Limits of this brief

All-items HICP annual inflation on the ECOICOP ver.2 classification, for nine EU reporting areas. Every figure is the one Eurostat published. Two geography labels are shortened so that a headline is readable — Eurostat's own label is shown on the brief itself in every case, and no code or figure is altered. Month-on-month differences are given in percentage points, never in percent, because the figures are already rates. A comparison is omitted entirely whenever Eurostat flags either month as a break in series or a change of definition. Provisional and estimated flags are carried into the wording. No explanation of why a figure moved is offered, and none should be inferred from the ordering of these pages.
