Privacy
Reading this site
Reading PlainRecord requires no account and sets no cookie. There is no advertising, no analytics service, no tracking pixel, no social embed and no third-party script of any kind. Pages work with JavaScript switched off because they do not use it.
What the server records
The web server keeps ordinary request logs so that faults can be diagnosed and abuse can be stopped. These may contain your IP address, the page requested, the time, and the user agent your browser sends. They are kept for a short period and are not used to build a profile, not combined with anything else, and not shared.
If you write to us
Email sent to the correction address is kept while the matter is dealt with, and afterwards for as long as needed to keep an honest record of what was corrected and why. Your email address is not added to any list. There is no newsletter.
Data taken from sources
The records this site reads are published by public institutions. Where a record contains personal data that the service does not need, it is discarded at ingestion rather than stored. In particular, European Parliament vote records list how each named member voted; those individual lists are not stored here, because nothing published on this site uses them. Only the aggregate counts the institution itself publishes are kept.
Donations
Donations, when they open, will be handled entirely by an external payment provider under its own privacy terms. No payment details reach this site. Donor identities are not published without explicit consent.
Redactions
If a page must be changed for legal or privacy reasons, the notice that it was changed stays public, but the withheld wording is not republished.
